Each year millions of tons of by-products are being produced in the vegetable industry. Most of it are actually good quality, healthy foods. However, currently most of it ends up as fertiliser, animal feed or is just being disposed of.
It took FST 4 years to develop the unique technology to dry and mill vegetable pomace in a way that would produce a cold- and warm swelling powder with naturally high water retention – a real vegetable fibre.
In a world in which sustainability becomes more and more important, solutions like ours are very much sought after. Even more so as for FST sustainability means not only to use raw materials from side-streams. It encompasses also to only employ natural, physical production technologies.
Therefore, our food ingredients are not only functional but a contribution to a more sustainable food industry.
